## Overview

The base layer is transparent by design and will stay that way, so every privacy option here is opt in at the application layer. Aztec's private rollup reached alpha in March 2026, Railgun's shielded pool carries most of the volume, and the Ethereum Foundation is wiring its Kohaku SDK into wallets. Bubble runs on Ethereum through the Soda SDK: contracts stay standard EVM, amounts live on chain as ciphertexts, and disclosure is governed by the contract.
