Public zkSync Era has no confidentiality. Its ZK proofs serve scaling, and the Atlas upgrade is about throughput. The privacy option is Prividium, a licensed permissioned L2 whose data stays off the public chain while proofs settle on Ethereum, first deployed with Deutsche Bank. In other words, privacy on zkSync today means leaving the public chain for an instance you have to license.
Private by design.
